After adopting a baby girl, a woman discovers something unexpected…

She chose to make a fresh start when her marriage dissolved while she was in her early 30s.

She relocated to Colorado, where she started a new chapter in her career and decided becoming a foster parent. She had reproductive issues but had always wanted to adopt.

Katie learned about an unidentified baby boy who had been abandoned at a nearby hospital when he was just four days old. On Grayson’s 11th month birthday, Katie legally adopted him.

Katie enjoyed being a mother, but she felt that it would be preferable to wait a few years before having another child.

She received a phone call from another caseworker shortly after adopting Grayson, informing her of a critical situation.

A newborn girl had been abandoned at the same hospital, and she agreed to a quick adoption so that she could be evaluated.

Hannah was transported to Katie’s residence a few hours later. She was subsequently taken to Grayson and given a permanent address.

Then, Katie uncovered a surprising discovery when she got acquainted with the name engraved on Hannah’s baby bracelet; the initial name of her bio mom was the same as the one Grayson’s birth mother had submitted to the hospital.

While going through Hannah’s discharge papers, she saw that Hannah’s biological parents and Grayson’s biological mother were both born on the same day.

Katie had a sneaky suspicion that her two freshly adopted children, Grayson and Hannah, were linked in some manner, despite the fact that they didn’t look anything alike.

Katie was adamant about discovering the truth, so she probed further. She eventually tracked down Hannah’s original mother, and DNA testing revealed that Grayson and Hannah were biological half-siblings.

“Imagine if Baby Girl had been adopted by someone else,” Katie said. “I couldn’t say anything since the miracle that had just happened was beyond my comprehension.”

Katie legally adopted Hannah in December 2018. “The day I said “Yes” to adopting the baby girl, I felt the strangest feeling I’ve ever had,” she said.

Despite the fact that it didn’t fit into my plans and made absolutely no sense, my brain kept saying “no,” but something deep inside me kept saying “yes.”

It is a true gift and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Katie is now working on the implementation of a third kid, Grayson, Hannah’s brother, who will be five months old.
