Constance Wu, the actress of Hustlers, is back on social media after almost three years. After she was trolled on the internet by people, she felt that she wasn’t worth enough to live.
In 2019, the actress faced outrage after seeming angry at the renewal of her TV program Fresh Off The Boat, later explaining: ‘I was briefly disappointed yesterday not because I detest the show, but because its renewal meant I had to give up another project that I was extremely enthusiastic about.’
She has now stated in a recent social media post that the har.a..s.sment she received caused her to forsake social media for over three years.

To be honest, I’m a bit nervous, but I’m putting my toe back in to say I’m back, and while I was gone, I published a book called Making a Scene.’ This next aspect is difficult to discuss but I was frightened to return to social media since it almost cost me my life, ‘the Crazy Rich Asians star said.

‘3 years ago, when I made irresponsible tweets regarding the renewal of my TV program, it sparked controversy and harsh online shaming.’ I felt ter.r.ible about what I’d said, and when a fellow Asian actor informed me I’d become a plague on the Asian American community, I felt like I didn’t even deserve to live. That I was an embarrassment to the AsAms and that they would be better off without me.’

“Looking back, it’s bizarre that a few DMs led me to terminate my own life, but that’s what occurred,” the 40-year-old said. Fortunately, a buddy discovered me and brought me to the ER.’
