Mara Wilson rose to prominence as a child actress in the 1990s, appearing in three blockbuster films before the age of ten.
She rose to prominence with appearances in “Mrs. Doubtfire” (1993), “Miracle on 34th Street” (1994), and “Matilda” (1995), but shortly after the production of Matilda in the early 1990s, a little Mara lost her mom because of cancer.

Her mother passed away when she was only eight years old, leaving her with an empty heart and soul.
During this difficult period, post-production work on “Matilda” was still required, which Mara recalls as a calming influence in an otherwise frenetic existence.
“Filming had ended, and my mother died away approximately six months later, when we were conducting post-production work,” she told Parade in 2013.
The film “Matilda” was devoted to Mara’s mom, Suzie, and DeVito made sure Suzie saw Mara’s big moment by giving her an early, special edit of the film while she was still hospitalized.
“I actually felt happy when I was a part of Matilda since I could concentrate on that and everything positive that was going on in my life.”
But it wasn’t always this simple to deal with. Wilson, like any other kid with a sick parent, battled with her mother’s condition.
