Being a teacher is, perhabs, one of the most valuable but, at the same time, difficult professions. They work hard for minimal remuneration to educate the next generation of intellectuals, serving as society’s backbone. However, because of their poor incomes, many instructors struggle to pay their own costs. This was the situation at one school in Dumont, New Jersey, but they were in for a rude awakening following the de.ath of a beloved teacher.
Genevieve Via Cava had spent 45 years at the New Jersey school. She was a special education teacher, and the kids loved her very much. She sincerely enjoyed working with pupils and would return to the school even after she retired to see former classmates and colleagues.

She was renowned for being modest since she saved coupons, didn’t wear fancy clothing, and didn’t have any close relatives.
Genevieve retired in 1990 after more than four decades of teaching, but she remained active in the school community. Sadly, she passed away in 2011 at the age of 88.
But she put a lot of effort into the school. The school was taken aback when they got a million dollar check from Genevieve’s estate counsel only a few weeks after her de.ath.
She managed to accumulate enough money over her teaching career to make a significant donation to the school by practicing modest living, something she learnt growing up during the Great Depression.
The funds will be utilized to enhance the education of special education pupils who have graduated from high school. Only the woman’s attorney was aware of her fortune or her intention to contribute such a large amount after her de/ath.
