Parents demonstrate the benefits of having children with Down syndrome by posting images of their twins… View the video below…

Being different means being one-of-a-kind, and Julie and Dan McConnel understand how to accept and respect one’s individuality in a way that wins hearts all around the world. They couldn’t have been happier when they found out they were going to be parents again. They couldn’t wait to get their hands on their bundle of joy. But God is awesome, and he provided these two amazing people two reasons to be excited about life: they were going to have twin boys.

He also bestowed upon them two adorable tiny angels with an extra chromosome. Milo and Charlie were even more special because fraternal twins with Down syndrome are thought to occur only once every 14 million births.

Julie and Dan were aware that having children with this disease could be difficult, so they considered placing them for adoption, especially since they already had four children. But, seeing how much the boys have grown, they’re delighted they went on the vacation, which has turned out to be the nicest and most colorful adventure. People all around the country adore their boys and not just those in their immediate family. They’ve become an internet sensation.

These parents were fully aware of the stigma attached to people with Down Syndrome. But, in reality, these folks just have identical faces. Their personalities and character attributes are diametrically opposed. And Charlie and Milo’s parents were adamant about letting everyone know. What exactly do they do? Making use of social media. And they do an excellent job of it.

“I want to reach out to families whose children have been diagnosed with Down syndrome because it can be very frightening.” Julie told WTSP 10 News, “I hope people will find us and see that this is how life can be.”

“It can be enjoyable, there is a lot of love in it, and it is not frightening.” We have no regrets, and our lives are filled with joy. I’m hoping people notice.”

The McConnels are doing everything they can to educate other parents of children with Down syndrome about the obstacles they may face and how to best deal with them.

“It takes them a little longer to reach milestones, but when they do, we celebrate like no other parents on Earth,” she explained. “When they do those things, we throw a party for them and are so happy for them.”

“It’s important to show everyone that we’re here and that there are a lot of kids in our community,” Dan added. We hope they notice and remember us, and that things continue to improve in our communities in a positive way.”

“We’re standing on the shoulders of other parents who made this all possible,” Julie explained. “It’s an exciting time to have a child with Down syndrome.” “I want them to get older and be able to do whatever they want.”

We do hope that these wonderful parents are able to raise awareness about children with Down’s so that people finally realize that they are just like any other child when it comes to making their families happy.

So don’t worry about the stares and don’t ever apologize to a parent whose child has this syndrome, because there’s nothing to apologize for.

The story of these parents may change the minds of other parents-to-be who are thinking about putting their babies with Down’s up for adoption.
