Two sisters who were split apart as youngsters didn’t come into contact with one another until they met as adults.

Mary McLaughlin, who is 55 years old, is the half-sister of Diana Ward, who is 58 years old.
They were reared separately because their mother passed away from breast cancer when they were young.

Since the sisters were reared separately, they were oblivious to one another for their whole lives.
Despite the fact that they as children just lived a few streets apart, they spent their entire childhood together.

The sisters would then be able to look back on their youth.

Diana moved to the UK after their marriage, while Mary made her home with her own family in Arkansas. When the oldest sister decided to take a DNA test for Christmas to see whether she shared any ancestors with the people whose data is stored in a secure database, everything fell into place.

The process took a few months and cost $50. Results showed that Diana had a second cousin, so she reached out to her through email to learn more about their family history. Then, an aunt from long ago informed her that she had half-sister. Diana tracked out the supposed sister’s contact info, sent her letter, and eventually set up a vide conversation with her.

The ladies began daily phone calls. And then, five thousand miles and a plane ride later, Diana finally reached her sister in the United States.

The success of their initial encounter thrilled them both.

The sisters were speechless, but they agreed that it was love at first sight.

Mary saw her mother and other relatives in Diana’s looks. All the sisters could think about was how sad it was that their mom wasn’t there to see their happy reunion.
