The country music musician was having a great time in Edmonton, Canada when he noticed two glittering guitar signs in the middle of the throng.
As a result, Urban invited the two sign-holders to the stage. But he wasn’t expecting to see two tiny girls. They were, however, sisters who grew close at a Keith Urban performance rather than just friends.
Yes, they had the opportunity to connect with Urban and perform with him. However, that was hardly the evening’s highlight. Urban questioned one of the siblings, Hailey Benedict, about her job objectives. Of course, her remark thrilled Urban, who is a singer-songwriter himself.
Urban went on to inform the two girls’ mother that he supports them, claiming to be proud of Benedict’s lifelong ambition. “Mom, I’ll support a singer-songwriter for that!” City stated.
Before allowing them to leave the stage, Urban naturally asked the young girl if she had ever attempted making her own song. Urban questioned about her guitar skills shortly after she replied in the affirmative. Urban said “sure” and told the crew to bring a guitar on stage for the woman.
In reality, Benedict was already a rising sensation when she performed her own song, “Clean Slate,” live on stage. She did not disappoint the audience. She actually gave the sense of being a stage pro, as if she had been doing it for a long time.
Urban gave Benedict a bear hug when she finished her act. He shared video of the young girl’s performance on Facebook and YouTube because he was so proud of her.
Fans of Urban are well aware that what he did that evening was not novel because he has before committed a similar behavior. Urban, you see, wants to share the spotlight with his fans while also having it all to himself.
Benedict is now a well-known recording artist. On Facebook, she stated:
“I just wrapped off two great days of recording my brand-new song, ‘Clean Slate.’ (I sang this song at Keith Urban’s concert.) “It has been such a wonderful experience,” she said at the time, “and I can’t wait to share it with you all.”
Benedict has had a string of hits since then, including “Wanted You To.”
