Late last month, 24-year-old Patricia Organo was working on a Philippine Airlines flight when a little newborn passenger began to cry. “Everything went smoothly until after takeoff, I heard an infant’s cry, a cry that will make you want to do anything to help,” explains Organo.
“I approached the mother and asked how she was doing… She broke the news to me while crying, saying she was out of formula milk. Organo, a new mother herself, offered to help in a way that only moms could because the baby was sobbing so loudly that other passengers turned to stare at the passenger and her child.

The mother accepted gratefully and followed the flight attendants back to the galley, where Organo fed the woman’s baby. “I could see the relief in her mother’s eyes,” Organo writes.

“I continued to feed the baby until she fell asleep, [then] I escorted her back to her seat, and just before I left, the mother sincerely thanked me.” Not only was Organo happy to help a stranger in need, but her compassionate gesture also helped get her a promotion with the airline.
