During his funeral, the entire school pays their respects to their wonderful teacher by performing a stunning Haka(Video)

All of his pupils paid tribute to their beloved instructor in a manner that would warm his heart. Dawson Tamatea was a notable teacher at New Zealand’s Palmerston North Boys’ High School. He began teaching Physical Education and Math in an all-boys school for over 30 years.

When he suddenly passed away, the school closed for a half-day to allow the whole school and staff to attend his burial. Hundreds of people watched as the whole school did the Haka when Mr. Tamatea arrived in the hearse.

A haka is the Maori people’s ancient ancestral battle cry. Warriors used to perform haka to declare their power and scare the enemy. But the haka was and is still done for a variety of reasons, such as greeting important guests, recognizing important achievements, and showing respect at events like funerals.

The school remarked, “This was a really passionate and dramatic performance.” We are quite pleased with our lads’ accomplishments, and we know Mr. Tamatea is as well. ”
