I took our child to the shopping mall this morning, and as I was departing, I noticed this sign. We walked down those faux-marble paths until they were entirely worn down, regardless of the fact that we were dirt poor. Being at the mall meant doing things like fawning over loved ones, going to the shops, and chit-chatting with friends. However, would any of us have stopped what we were doing when we were adolescents to help an old woman in need? To put that into perspective, one incredible young man from Compton, California did just that while out with his friends at the mall. His stepmother was lucky enough to catch her caring son giving back to the community on video. She posted the touching video online so that everyone could watch it and be moved.
A young guy gets praised for his unselfish action on behalf of an elderly woman in distress.
Dashawn, who was just 13 at the time, decided to get involved and do the right thing without considering whether or not his friends were watching or what any lady his age would say at school. He put his own worries aside to help an elderly woman navigate the shopping mall’s crowded parking lot. Maria Lopez posted the video of her stepson doing the wonderful act after watching it on the Love What Matters page on Facebook.
“I just dropped off our child at the shopping center today, and I’m reading this as I go out the door,” Maria wrote. To say we are thrilled with the mature young man he is becoming would be an understatement. Even a lady came to a halt and, with tears in her eyes, praised him for his performance. It really takes a village, and our whole community is extremely proud of you, young guy.
Our son’s name is Dashawn, and he is 13 years old at the moment. I initially met his mother four years ago, and we will celebrate our first year as a married couple on August 20th. Dashawn’s mother, Nicky, grandmother Kiwanis, and grandfather Charlie, have been like second parents to him since his father left while he was a toddler. They have all contributed to his remarkable upbringing. Dashawn has always impressed me as an extraordinarily distinctive and compassionate young guy from the first time I met him. He never ceases trying to help others who are less lucky in whatever way he can. This happened without being prompted in any manner. It goes without saying that everyone in his family is proud of him, but no one is more proud of him than his mother. ”
She instilled in Dashawn, with the help of her parents, Kate and Charlie, the value of caring and honoring all people, but especially the elderly, from a young age. Dashawn addressed his parents on July 31st with a request to join his friends at the mall. He was more excited than usual to spend time with his buddies since it was the last day of summer. He was aware that he would no longer be allowed to go to the mall on weekdays during the school year. Let’s go forward to the moment when we arrive at the mall. I gave him his daily stipend, told him I loved him, and promised to visit him in three hours to remind him to be responsible with his choices and that I loved him. He got out of the truck after telling me he loved me and that everything was fine.
As I was getting ready to go, I saw Dashawn having a chat with an elderly lady. Because I was in the truck at the time, I couldn’t hear what the two individuals were saying, so I wasn’t sure what was going on at first. The next thing I notice is an elderly lady handing my child her bag of food and motioning for him to go to the other side of her. Following that, I noticed the following. I realized what was going on when I got that revelation. I got out my phone to take a picture and capture what was going on so that his mother and grandparents could see what I had observed.
Although it was not essential for Dashawn to stop his own delight to help this woman, he did so without hesitation. This small youngster was clearly raised well by his mother, stepmother, and the rest of the “community.” When he grows up, he will have a good head on his shoulders and will be a sensitive and kind adult. Under any conditions, it is not refuted.
