If you like small houses or have ever wanted to live a slightly faster life with spectacular nature, this house will definitely make you jealous. In New Zealand, this lady lives in a magnificent house composed of five 20-foot shipping containers. It is breathtaking.
Rosie lives on 23 acres of property in Coromandel, New Zealand. Her house, on the other hand, is not your typical log in the forest. She resides in an off-the-grid, sustainable house comprised of five 20-foot shipping containers. Her residence was called Ahurewa, which means “holy spot.”

Rosie is filled with beautiful trees, with no other place to call home in sight. She purposefully located the home so that you can see both the dawn and sunset every day. It doesn’t get much more secluded or peaceful than that.
She grows culinary and medicinal plants, as well as a natural garden in which she encourages native species to flourish. In the event of a cloudy day, she has backup batteries and a power inverter. A lovely tiny fireplace acts as both a whole-house warmer and a backup stove in case the main burner fails.

Rosie wanted to live as ecologically as possible when she built her house. She wanted to enjoy the environment she was lucky enough to live in and not hurt it.
There are floor-to-ceiling windows in practically every area of the house to let in natural daylight while also taking advantage of the breathtaking vistas. The kitchen is enormous; she has a nice library; a basic shower; and a bedroom large enough to accommodate a king-size bed. The nicest feature of the bedroom, though, is the breathtaking views.
