When a teenager from Indianapolis stopped to ask for help on his way to a job interview, he got more help than he expected.
Jhaqueil Reagan, 18, saw a guy spreading ice melt in a car park and inquired about the distance to his goal.
The restaurant owner, Art Bouvier, informed Reagan that he still had 5 or 6 miles to go.
«I advised him to take the bus rather than walk, particularly with all this ice and mud,» Bouvier said in a now-viral Facebook post. He thanked me and went on his way. He might have requested funds for a bus, but he did not.
Bouvier and his wife drove past Reagan, who was still struggling through the snow, and offered to give him a ride.
«Why aren’t you on the bus?» inquired the local news station, FOX 59. «He stated I couldn’t afford to use the bus until I had a job.»
Reagan was still a long way from his goal and strolling along a street with no pavement when they snapped him up.
Bouvier handed Reagan some lunch money and left him off at his location after praising the teen’s work ethic and determination to trek so far for «a prospective minimum-wage employment.»
«I requested his phone number and told him to retain the interview, but I would look into hiring him so his daily trip would be 3 miles instead of 10.»
After Reagan was rejected by his first choice, Bouvier promised him a position at Papa Roux.
Reagan told FOX 59 that he dropped out of school 2 years ago when his mom passed away. He finished his GED while caring for his siblings. Reagan was ecstatic about the prospect.
Reagan considered himself fortunate to have met Bouvier. I consider myself quite fortunate to have met him. »
After hearing the account, the local transportation agency gave Reagan a free one-year bus pass.
He seemed surprised that he suddenly had a job, a way to get around, and a lot of fans.
«That’s insane. I have no idea. «It’s insane, «Raleigh said. Right now, my heart is racing. I’m simply too eager to begin. »
According to Bouvier, Reagan will be a great investment.
I wish to present Jhaquiel to the next person who delivers me a sob tale about needing money for this or that in order to better their life. » Bouvier is a writer.
