A man sued a food stall because after eating their ham roll, he hasn’t stopped farting for five years…

This is a story about a man who sued a food stall for £200,000, claiming that he hasn’t stopped farting since reheating a ham sandwich 5 years ago.

Tyrone Prades, 46, purchased the sandwich while visiting the Birmingham Christmas market with his wife and children in 2017. His attorneys told the High Court that after consuming it, he had stomach pains, fever, vomiting, and diarrhea.

He says he was hospitalized for five weeks due to salmonella. According to the attorneys, Prades has experienced frequent and uncontrolled farts since then, which has embarrassed him in public and kept him awake at night.

Prades’ stomach continued to create strange rumbling sounds after the sickness faded, according to his lawyer, Robert Parkin.

“The claimant continued to suffer from severe flatulence, which caused him tremendous humiliation,” Parkin said. The primary symptoms are weariness and abnormal bowel function, which are coupled with ‘churning’ inside his belly and flatulence.”

“The claimant’s stomach continues to produce regular churning sounds, disrupting his sleep. The severity of the symptoms has affected his life.”

The lawyer further claimed that after a Public Health England inquiry, the booth at issue was shuttered and thoroughly cleaned.

Other consumers who purchased food from the market allegedly became unwell.

Prades’ case is dependent on whether or not the flooring company’s owner was infected with salmonella.

The lawyer representing Frankfurt Christmas Market Ltd, which provided the ham sandwich, Philip Davy, agreed that council environmental health officials discovered e.coli on a knife but no salmonella.

He further said that since Prades has not claimed he was infected with e.coli, he needs to substantiate the salmonella accusation in order to obtain the compensation.

Frankfurt Christmas Market Ltd denies any wrongdoing, but the matter will now go to trial.

Another of Prades’ attorneys, Rory Badenoch, said that the £200,000 number might climb due to the continued effect on him.
