Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, finds herself in the awful situation of being sued by her sister after claiming to be an only child.
Samantha Markle, Meghan’s half-sister, has taken the princess to court in Florida for comments she made during a contentious interview with Oprah.
Samantha’s attorneys allege Meghan lied about her “rags-to-royalty” tale and uttered “false and intentional falsehoods.”
She also denied the Duchess’ allegation that she “grew up as an only kid.”
Meghan’s attorneys have now reacted, stating she did not mislead and that the assertion that she was the only child was “not intended to be a declaration of absolute truth that she had no genetic brothers and sisters or half-siblings.” It was more of a classic example of a subjective remark about how a person thinks about their upbringing. ”

According to one analyst, the Markle family’s attempts to capitalize on the Duchess’s stardom have become an extremely frequent pattern.
According to royal analyst Daniela Elser, Meghan’s “dispersed” family have “done everything” to “squeeze every last dollar and drop of attention out of their relationship with the Duchess.”
“It’s tough not to feel sorry for her being trapped with this grabbing bunch,” she continued.
However, one regrettable side consequence of this lawsuit and this week’s legal wrangling is that it has increased attention to the fact that, on occasion, Meghan has stated things that were afterwards determined to be not quite true.”

She claims that the Oprah interview had certain inaccuracies, including her allegation that she and Harry were married before the big TV event.
The Archbishop of Canterbury said that although he had seen the couple earlier, the legal wedding took place on the day that the whole world saw live on television.
She wasn’t also honest about the security afforded to those with the HRH title, with only William and Charles receiving it around the clock.
Elser also highlighted that, despite the pair’s claim that “we didn’t have a strategy” for collaborating with streaming services, the couple “had a series of meetings” with Quibi, a short-lived streaming service that launched in 2019.
It was then revealed that Meghan was “in talks with Netflix about her animated TV show [Pearl] in 2018, while she was still a working member of the Royal Family.”
