“Despacito,” written by Luis Fonsi and sung by Daddy Yankee,was released almost five years ago. The remixed version (with Justin Bieber) topped the Billboard Hot 100 and UK Singles Charts, becoming the first Spanish-language success since 1996’s Macarena.

It had more than 6,000,000,000 views on YouTube and was recognized in the Guinness Book of Records as the most popular video in YouTube history, and it also became the leader among YouTube videos in terms of the most likes, having over 45 million likes. It was sixteen weeks at the top of the US Billboard Hot 100, beating Mariah Carey’s record of “One Sweet Day.”

On April 30, 2017, the physical release started in Europe as a two-track single including the original and a pop version. The song was recorded in Miami, Florida in 2016. The song was produced by Mauricio Rengifo and Andrés Torres, the latter of whom is recognized for his work with David Bisbal and Ricky Martin. Rengifo (Rengifo) is the first producer.
