When a widow dining alone writes her a letter regarding the service, the waitress can’t help but weep..

We never know what kind of stuff may suddenly touch our hearts. It may be a touching narrative told by a friend or a nice video seen on the internet. While we never know when such moments will occur, we are grateful when they do.

One waitress had a touching moment at work when she was given a message.

“The customer who left the message came in around midway through my 17-hour shift, and it was on a Sunday, which is normally busy,” King said. “It began to calm down around midway through her dinner, so we spoke for a few minutes.” Nothing too serious, just small conversation. Megan King was working as a waiter when she observed a tiny lady eating by herself at the table. The meeting seemed reasonably regular until the lady gave Megan a letter, despite her best efforts to serve her.

It was a Sunday evening, and the note was accompanied by her tip.

“She claimed she was simply stopping by an old favorite for a snack,” King said.

Megan took two pictures. The first was of the note with the tip, and the second was of her face, which was in tears! She received the message on Sunday but did not share it on Twitter until Tuesday. It quickly went viral.

The lady eating out was out on her own for the first time.

Megan realized something was wrong after recalling the incident with the lady. She wishes she had asked more questions.

“In hindsight, I wish I had taken her silence as an invitation.” Looking back, I believe that’s what she wanted,” King remarked. “She kept staring up at me, so I believed there was something wrong with her dinner or she wanted anything.” -New York Times

Her husband had just died, and she wasn’t accustomed to living alone.

After just losing her spouse, the lady went to her favorite eatery for some lunch. As she sat there, it occurred to her that she was alone and would be eating many meals alone in the future.

Megan wished she had done more to approach the woman, but she was unaware of her situation.

In hindsight, we always wish we could have done more. Even though she wished she could have done more, Megan certainly left an impression on the lady and warmed her heart a little. As a consequence, Megan was able to assist a lady who she had no idea needed assistance.

The internet melted when they saw the letter.

Her husband had just die.d., and she wasn’t accustomed to living alone.

According to one Twitter user:

I simply want to hug whomever wrote this message. (I don’t like to say it, but this made me weep.)

It’s a wonderful reminder to be gentle and nice to others. You never know what people are going through in their life, and your tiny act of treating them like a person might make their day a lot better than it was.
