A passenger notices two soldiers talking on an airplane and rushes to the flight attendant

Kenny Kukich was having a typical flying day until he received the chance to do something good.

As Kukich was about to take his designated seat on the plane, he observed that several troops were also boarding. In fact, two of the guys were sitting next to him.

«Where are you going?» He remembered asking the soldier next to him. «Petawawa. We’ll be there for two weeks for specific training before heading to Afghanistan. «

After approximately an hour in the air, a flight attendant announced that they would be offering boxed lunches for $5 apiece. With just a few hours remaining on the flight, purchasing lunch seemed like a decent idea.

As Kukich reached for his money, he heard a soldier ask if he could buy one of those meals that come in a box.

«No, it seems to be a lot of money for a bag lunch. It’s probably not worth five dollars. I’ll wait till we get to the base. »

Seeing that none of the troops were purchasing food and suspecting that some of them were starving, he felt compelled to help them. He wanted them to relax and not be hungry throughout the trip. With these ideas in mind, he approached the flight attendant and gave her a $50 bill.

«Take all those warriors to lunch,» he instructed the flight attendant.

Moved by the man’s act, the flight attendant, who had a son in the military and was deployed in Iraq at one time, blurted out,

«I feel like you’re doing it for my kid as well.»

Each soldier received their lunch, and the flight attendant rewarded Kukich with an in-flight first-class dinner. However, the narrative did not finish there. When Kukich stood up to use the restroom, another passenger approached him and informed him that he had observed what he had done and wanted to do the same, handing him $25.

When the pilot learned of Kukich’s actions, he went to the main cabin to look for him.

«I wanted to inform you that I used to be a military pilot, and someone once paid for my lunch, and it was a gesture that I’ll always remember,» the pilot said as he extended his hand to shake the man’s hand.

At this time, it seems like the whole airplane has heard about the act of generosity and wants to reciprocate. As a result, two other guys gave Kukich another $25 apiece. He approached the troops and joyfully offered them the money he had accumulated.

«You may want to stop for a quick meal on your way to the military camp.»

It’s wonderful to read such tales. Doing good for others does not always require money. We have a duty as a community to treat everyone with compassion. Are you prepared to face this challenge? Be nice, and let that compassion spread across the globe.

What were your thoughts on this man’s actions? Would you have followed suit?
