A couple married over 6 decades kept their vow “Till death do us part” and died within 20 minutes of each other

Henry (86) and Jeanette (87) De Lange have been married for 63 years. And when they exchanged vows over 60 years ago, they clearly meant “’til death do us part.” Because Henry arrived in Heaven about 20 minutes after Jeanette. And the family believes it was God’s will!

This lovely couple shows us that love exists. They lived 63 years together.

They had five children together. And those children, now adults, couldn’t have asked for a better conclusion to their parents’ lovely love story.

“You don’t wish for it because it sounds cruel, but you couldn’t ask for anything more lovely,” their son, Lee, explains.

Jeanette was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease at the end of their lives and was taken to a nursing home. During the day, Henry, a Korean War veteran, would pay her repeated visits. And his unrelenting commitment had an impact on the couple’s children.

As Henry’s health worsened, he understood it was time for him to join his wife. After a few falls and a diagnosis of prostate cancer, he asked to move into the same nursing home as his wife.

The nursing facility put the husband and wife, who had been married for 63 years, in the same room, which was much welcomed by the couple’s kids.

“I am not sure how many more days I have Lee,” Henry recently admitted to his son. ”

The nursing facility quickly contacted the couple’s children to notify them that neither parent was doing well.

Only two of the youngsters came on time (including Lee). They huddled around their parents, reading the Bible until Jeanette passed away quietly at 5:10 p.m.

“We studied Psalm 103.” “We didn’t quite finish,” Lee remembered. “She die.d quietly and softly.” “Exceptionally calmly.”

Once they were certain Jeanette had left, they gently informed Henry.

Henry opened his eyes for the first time, looking closely at where his love was. “He closed his eyes again,” Lee stated. “I lay back down and died around 5 or 10 minutes later.”

Henry passed away at 5:30 p.m. After 63 years of marriage, the couple was separated by death for barely 20 minutes.

Though losing both parents was difficult, the couple’s children believe the timing to be a favor from God.

Lee said, “We call it a magnificent act of providential mercy and kindness from God.”
