A fantastic house, which is constructed between rocks , seems unreal at first glance

When images of a strange home in Portugal began to circulate on social media, many people assumed it was a work of Photoshop.

The edifice, however, piqued the curiosity of the press, which verified its existence. Indeed, the proprietors were forced to relocate owing to tourist activities. The home is known as Casa do Penedo, which loosely translates as “Stone House” or “House of Stones.” It is situated in northern Portugal, in a sparsely populated yet picturesque region.

Because it is not difficult to access the lodging, visitors started to assault the attraction, forcing the owners to relocate.

Victor Rodriguez constructed the first home in 1974 for family holidays, with walls composed of four big stones. The windows and entrance are purposefully cut incorrectly. As a result, from a distance, it seems like someone is living within a massive stone.

Some speculate that the concept was inspired by a cartoon about the Flintstone family, who lived in a similar basic dwelling. Yet, the accuracy of this viewpoint is not definite. For a while, the Rodriguez family resided at the home. Everything is well-organized: two floors (internal height of approximately 5.5 meters) with a kitchen, living room, and bedroom below, and a bedroom above, all the required furnishings, and a fireplace carved out of the rock.

There is information that the “Stone House” was not provided with electricity. They claim the renters purposefully left it.

But the owners of Casa do Penedo have built other “buildings” nearby, such as a real swimming pool and a small “barn.”

The building’s owners are no longer even attempting to live there. Nonetheless, this location retains its attractiveness. Tourists visit often.
