Jennifer Garner celebrated her 50th birthday on April 17, but the festivities started a few days earlier when she got a surprise from her childhood celebrity love, Donny Osmond.

The actress shared a video of the incident on Instagram. In the video, she can be seen sitting surprised in a restaurant as she hears a customized video greeting from Osmond, 64, who is performing her a birthday song.

She had no clue she’d be met by her hero moments later.

Before Garner could thank whomever made the virtual welcome possible, Jennifer Lopez crept up behind her and sang, “Jennifer! It’s your big day! ”

Garner rose from her seat, blushing and holding back tears, and embraced Osmond, who had brought a birthday cake labeled “13 Going On 50! Donny is my favorite! ”

“My first (pre)birthday surprise was a stinker— the one and only, legend in his own right, object of my childhood love and admiration and devotion— the one and only, legend in his own right, @donnyosmond showed up to knock my purple socks off,” the “Alias” star wrote in the video caption.

The singer took a seat next to Garner and joined her in an impromptu rendition of some of his prior songs, including “Make the World Go Away.”

Garner thanks Osmond for making her pre-birthday celebration especially memorable.

Garner stated, “He took an hour and a half out of his day to sit with me, sing my favorite songs, and teach me how to be a class act.” “Donny, thank you very much.”

She also commended Osmond’s sister, Marie, and his wife, Debbie.

Osmond posted Garner’s video on his Instagram account, along with a note and an invitation.

“One of my favorite things to do is surprise fans, so I was ecstatic when I got the chance to surprise the wonderful @jennifer.garner for her 50th birthday,” the singer wrote. “Thank you for asking me to share in your joy!” Come visit me at @harrahsvegas the next time you’re in town to be my special guest on stage. ”

Birthday wishes poured in from fans and industry colleagues in the comments section of Garner’s article.

Throughout America in the late 1970s, the “Donny & Marie” program was a fixture. Back then, Osmond was a well-known teen idol with many female fans all over the world, including, according to rumors, Garner.

Garner was raised in West Virginia and had a very average upbringing. She is the middle child of two working parents who used to take the family to church on Sundays. She also took ballet lessons, and when she chose to be an actor, she had to work as a waitress to make ends meet.
