She was the world’s ugliest lady, yet the finest mother ever. The story of this woman will make you cry…

You’ve probably heard of Mary Ann Webster, the lady who became known as the “ugliest woman in history.” Her look, however, is the result of an illness that has drastically altered her destiny. Although she was ridiculed for most of her life, she was a very strong and fearless lady.

Mary Ann was born in London in 1874 and grew up in a poor but large household. She has worked as a nurse since she was a child. The girl met Thomas Bevan when she was 29 years old, and they married shortly after. The couple has four kids. However, the woman’s health started to deteriorate when she was 32 years old.

Her joints started hurting, she had migraines, and getting out of bed became difficult at times. Doctors had no idea what was wrong with her, and she couldn’t lie down since she needed to work. Her facial features distorted and grew longer over time, while her limbs became thicker and rougher.

Mary Ann, formerly a pretty and delightful young woman, has lost her femininity. During that difficult time, Mary’s husband was wonderfully supportive and adored her. But destiny had other plans for her: Thomas had died, leaving the widow to raise four children on her own. And she already looked terrible; passers-by were gazing at her, and every departure from the street was a genuine test for Ann.

She was happy with any job as long as it paid well. She happened to notice an advertisement for a contest to find the ugliest lady, with a large cash prize. Mary Ann resolved to attend the contest for the benefit of the children, despite the fact that she would become a laughingstock to everyone around her.

She won, and her life got much more difficult. In 1920, she was asked to appear in the Dreamland Circus on Coney Island. She agreed to go abroad so that her children might have access to food. She performed in front of an eager audience eager to witness the circus’s ugliest lady.

As she was a legitimate circus star at the time, she was dressed in women’s attire to accentuate her defects. Unfortunately, patients with acromegaly do not live long, and Mary died at the age of 59. Mary Ann Webster became renowned as the ugliest woman in history, despite the fact that she was only a mother who did all she could to guarantee that her children did not go hungry.
