Critics of The View, ABC’s daytime talk program, are ecstatic that Joy Behar, 77, has declared her intention to quit when her contract ends in 2022. Behar has been a member of the program for twenty-one seasons and has touched the lives of millions of Americans who tune in every day to get their daily fix of what’s going on in America.
In an interview with writer Ramin Setoodeh’s book The Explosive Inside Story of the View, which will be released in paperback, Behar revealed her plan to depart from The View in an interview with
Many people admire Behar, yet many others despise her. Because of her left-wing ideology, she has irritated many people over the years, particularly after President Trump’s election.

Behar was eager to talk about how she planned to leave the show when her contract with ABC was up.
In the book, Behar says, “I have a three-year contract.” ” But it doesn’t mean I can’t go if I want to, since they can’t do anything to me at this time. I don’t think I’ll be able to remain for much longer. That’s all! ”
Behar is the lefty on the program. She also said that she may not stop. Everything depends on how she feels as she walks.
“I may be mistaken. I’ll think about it if I’m as amazing in [2022] as I am today. But the odds of it occurring… she paused. “You know, time passes.” I’m not a child.
Variety approached The View to question whether Behar’s departure was near because they wanted to know if the interview was accurate or not. Variety inquired as to whether Behar intended to let her contract expire in 2022.
According to a spokeswoman for the program, Behar is not departing and the story “is not accurate.”
“Joy was asked what happens at the conclusion of her contract, and as she herself said in the interview, if she’s ‘as amazing in [2022] as I am today,’ she will remain in her place at the table,” the spokesman continued.
Throughout her time on the program, Behar has been a token Democrat. She has been on the show longer than the show’s creator, Barbra Walters, who retired in 2014 at the age of 84.
ABC dismissed Behar in 2013 because she was too political. They did, however, continue to bring her back for guest appearances. Two years later, she was reinstated as a full-time host of the program.
She wrote a book titled The Great Gasbag: An A-Z Study Guide to Surviving Trump’s America.
Behar left The View on March 13 due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.
She said that she would not be driving in for the concert since “I’m in a greater risk category due to my age, but I’m totally well.”
She recently began dialing in from her home in the Hamptons for her appearances on the program.
