Robert De Niro married Grace Hightower in 1997. After getting a divorce in 1999, the couple got back together and got married again in 2004.

The couple’s turbulent love affair, however, continued until they filed for divorce in 2018.

Hightower’s bank accounts are empty as he continues to spend his money as if it were endless, pushing him to accept any part offered to pay the bills.

A court recently decided that De Niro should pay Hightower $1 million each year. Also, any money they get from selling their $20 million home must be split in half.

This divorce fight began years ago, when Hightower filed for divorce in December 2018.

In the beginning, De Niro and Hightower fought for custody of their nine-year-old child. But now their disagreement is about money and property, and each side wants to finish their divorce and live on their own.

Hightower, on the other hand, may be devouring cash at a rate that even a high-paid actor like De Niro can’t match.

According to court documents, Hightower spends around $215,000 per month on credit cards and an extra $160,000 per month in cash.

Caroline Krauss, De Niro’s attorney, indicated that the actor is quickly running out of money since his ex-wife spends it faster than he makes it.

The coronavirus epidemic has made it more difficult for De Niro to get acting assignments since Hollywood projects have been halted owing to the pandemic.

Despite this, De Niro was able to earn $5 million for his main part in Martin Scorsese’s next gangster thriller, The Irishman.

He also qualified for a government program to help people with the coronavirus, which gave him “tens of millions of dollars.”

According to Hightower’s lawyers, De Niro is worth $500 million, and the website Celebrity Net Worth concurs.

Caroline Krauss, on the other hand, says that De Niro’s wealth has gone down a lot because of how much money his ex-wife used to spend.

When their house eventually sells, De Niro will have to find another place for his ex-wife to reside.

De Niro will have to pay taxes on the majority of his revenues from his next two films.
