WHY DID 400 TEENAGERS ATTEND AN 88-YEAR-OLD WOMAN’S HOUSE?

More than 400 adolescents gathered outside the home of Tinny Davidson, an 88-year-old Canadian. They carried signs that read, “We adore you, Mrs. Davidson,” and “Thank you, you’re awesome!”

Tinny and her husband Ken settled in Comox, British Columbia, in 2007. The residence was on the way to the high school.

“I liked the sight of the youngsters, and they were staring out my windows, so I thought, why not wave?” Tinny and her husband smiled as teenagers went by every day. When her husband died, the wife carried on the family custom.

In 2014, dozens of students gathered outside Tinny’s house on Valentine’s Day. They thanked her for making them smile every day.

On Valentine’s Day 2016, more than 70 students gathered to adorn Tinny’s yard with handcrafted hearts. They presented her with cards and gifts.

400 pupils came to Tinny’s house as she was preparing to go into an old people’s center, twelve years after the children’s initial greeting. Tinny sat on her porch, unable to hold back her emotions as she waved to everyone for the last time. “I’m absolutely overwhelmed that so many youngsters want to bid me farewell,” Tinney remarked.
