Willis was having cognitive issues prior to his family stepping in “to take care of him,” according to Page Six. He had difficulty remembering his lines and was actually unable to do so. “He was having cognitive problems, they all knew Bruce was having problems,” a source explained. Everyone in the cast and crew was aware. His family has stepped in, and they have moved in to care for him.”

According to Page Six, Willis was wearing earpieces so that his lines could be fed to him while on set. He was also said to have used one for his Broadway debut in “Misery” in 2015, though sources said this was more due to Willis being “nervous” about script changes than anything else.

However, Willis used a body double for many of his scenes in more recent films because “having him on screen was becoming increasingly difficult.” Willis was said to have shot for three days for one project. “It was obvious he was having trouble… he couldn’t act anymore,” the source said.

“This is a really difficult time for our family, and we are so grateful for your continued love, compassion, and support,” they added. We are dealing with this as a strong family unit, and we wanted to include his fans because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him.”

“As Bruce always says, ‘Live it up,’ and together we plan to do just that,” the post concluded.
