This young man’s bravery is incredible. Few people in his situation would be as excited and determined as he is. This boy is unafraid of his lack of legs and will go to any length to achieve his goals. Such self-control and discipline should be exhibited by everyone. Cody McCasland was given a grim prognosis.
The child was diagnosed with a type of sacral agenesis. Doctors insisted on amputating the boy’s legs so that he might learn to walk with prosthesis on his own.

Because the right leg lacked the tibia and patella, it was impossible to support and bend the limb. The left leg was stiff. The surgeon may be able to improve the condition of the patient’s left leg, but no guarantees can be made. Cody’s parents took a chance and agreed to the amputation of their 15-month-old son.

Two months after his surgery, the child had already donned his first prosthesis and, to the surprise of his parents and doctors, had rapidly learned its operation.
At the age of nine, this boy had 19 prosthetic legs made for various hobbies.
He is able to participate in numerous sports with their help, and he frequently defeats his healthy classmates.

Cody McCasland has the desire to win the Paralympics. The sports he enjoys the most
include jogging, football, hockey, and swimming. In the far future, the youngster
views himself as a successful physician.

This extraordinary youngster may serve as an example for all of us. It once again
demonstrates that regardless of what transpired, the only thing that
counts is how you respond to it.
