Sign Along With Us blew the judges away with their first audition, and after bringing down the house with their rendition of This Is Me, we take a look at the choir. Sign Along With Us is a Manchester-based singing chorus. It was founded by Jade, 18, after her 4-year-old brother Christian struggled to communicate before she taught him to sign. The choir is made up of 37 children and 28 adults, including a little girl named Ella, who range in age from 4 to 58 years old.
The fourteenth season broadcast in 2020, albeit in two parts because to the COVID-19 epidemic that hit the UK that year. The first half was devoted to audition programs that had previously been shot earlier that year and aired in April and May of that year.
After a hiatus, production resumed on the remaining episodes for the second half, which aired between August and October, with a few changes: measures to protect against infection were taken, including the use of a virtual audience and social distancing, all episodes aired weekly, all semi-finals were pre-recorded, and the voting system was changed as a direct result.
Before withdrawing from the first semi-final, Simon Cowell was injured in an accident in August, leaving him to miss the rest of the season and being replaced by Ashley Banjo. The season’s winner was comic pianist Steve Royle, with John Courtney of the Sign Along With Us choir coming in second and comedian Steve Royle coming in third.
