Most of us wish for an eternal love that lasts a lifetime, and this pair certainly found it in one other.

Meet Floyd And Violet

Floyd and Violet Hartwig are one of the most in-love couples in history, having shared their final days together.
The lovely couple’s relationship began at a local dance hall when they were both children in Easton, CA.

They married in 1947 and reared their children on a modest cotton farm along with turkeys.

Big Family

Floyd and Violet had two children, Carol and Kenneth, who gave them four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Donna Scharton, their daughter, said her “mom had dementia for several years and around the holidays we recognized she was going down,” while her father had kidney failure and only had two weeks to survive.

The family decided to put Floyd and Violet in hospice together where they had a beautiful continuation of their love story.

“We could tell my dad was in a lot more agony,” Donna added. We said, ‘It’s coming near,’ so we pushed the hospital beds as far as we could together.”

Floyd and Violet’s hands were joined by their relatives, and Floyd took his dying breath while clutching Violet’s hand. She was unaware of what had occurred until her family informed her that her spouse had died and that he was waiting for her.

Happy Ending

Violet then passed away five hours later, and although it was difficult for their family to have both of them leave them on the same day, they are at peace knowing that they were holding each other during their final moments.
