A 13-year-old builds his own modest house from the ground up for around $1500… View his video tour below…

There has been a huge growth in interest in tiny houses in recent years. Whether you’re a cool millennial or a traveling hippy, a tiny house may give you mobility, variety, simplicity, minimalism, and a one-of-a-kind living space. For some people, the advantages of living in a tiny environment outweigh the obvious disadvantages. Living in a smaller place, such as a tiny house, often results in a lifestyle change that many people find appealing.

Luke Thill, a remarkable 13-year-old from Dubuque, Iowa, set out to build his own little house in his parent’s garden, with astonishing results.
Luke built the house almost entirely on his own, with a little assistance from his parents.

Luke was able to raise the $1500 required to construct the house by mowing lawns, organizing a fund-raiser, and trading services. For example, he volunteered to clear out the garage of one of his father’s friends, who, being an electrician, returned the favor by assisting Luke with the wiring in his modest house.

Luke’s building made extensive use of salvaged or repurposed materials.
Luke’s ability to obtain affordable building materials, such as siding scraps from his grandmother and a front door from his uncle’s buddy, has been linked to his success in being able to afford to build the house. When everything was finished, he held a grand opening and invited everyone who had helped build his tiny house in any manner.

The house’s peak height is 10 feet, and its width is 5.5 feet.
Because of the compact residence, Luke now has his own great teen hangout spot. Who among youngsters wouldn’t want their own fully equipped home? Luke set up a small TV, microwave, refrigerator, and lounging area.

At times, the utilization of space in tiny houses may be quite inventive.

The dining table/desk, for example, is built by folding down a huge board from a neighboring wall and resting it on a metal bar that extends from beneath the loft steps. As a result, the hangout space can now be used as a desk or a dining table. He can seat up to four people around this table, which can then be completely folded up later.

Many others have been motivated to create their very own tiny houses thanks to Luke.

Luke invites you to have a look around his very own tiny house in the video below. Enjoy it, and tell us what you think about it in the comments section.
