Some actors are best known for the specific role they played. This is the situation in which Matt LeBlanc found himself: he rose to prominence as Joey Tribbiani in the television series Friends, and he won our hearts with his charming personality, hilarious antics, and the now-iconic phrase “How you doin’?”

The creators of the program admitted to Friends: The Reunion that they had to decide between Matt LeBlanc and Louis Mandylor. In the end, the latter did show up in the show, but in a different role. He was Joey’s “twin brother.” Friends fans will always remember LeBlanc’s character for his charm, his lack of common sense, his big, kind heart, and his “ability” to speak French.

Friends came to an end on May 6, 2004. Matt had married the American actress Melissa McKnight a year before, and that same year, he became a father. Unfortunately, things did not go as planned for the happy couple, as their daughter began to have seizures at the age of eight months.

After the show ended, Matt continued to play Joey in a new show of the same name. After the series was eventually canceled, he decided to leave the television industry in order to spend more time with his daughter Marina. She was diagnosed with cortical dysplasia, a brain condition that disrupts the normal functioning of the nervous system.

When Matt’s daughter was crawling, she would always fall on her left side, and this is when Matt realized she had a problem. They were warned at the time of her diagnosis that the condition could potentially impair her vocal cords, making it difficult for her to communicate verbally.

Matt McKnight and Melissa McKnight divorced in October 2006. From that year until 2011, he completely avoided the media. “There was a lot going on in my personal life, so I didn’t feel like being funny. We used to get along well, so I wasn’t sure if my marriage was doomed. Perhaps it was because of my daughter’s condition. “Perhaps I became overly preoccupied with my job and lost myself,” he explained in an interview.

“For years, I hardly ever left the house. I was exhausted. I didn’t want to make any plans or go anywhere. I was in a position to do so. The majority of performers contact their agents to see what opportunities are available to them. I contacted him and asked him to temporarily block my phone number. It was a difficult time.” “I almost had a nervous breakdown,” he told The Mirror.

Even though they had shared custody, LeBlanc moved to a ranch in California with his child after divorcing his wife and leaving television. “My daughter was diagnosed with a brain disorder. “We got through a really dark time because, as they say, ‘What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger,'” he told The Mirror.

“I remember when she was born. I’d never felt love like I did the first time I saw her. It was difficult for me to believe. At the time, I realized that nothing could stop me from loving her, even if she crashed my Ferrari.”

Marina now enjoys watching Friends with her father after overcoming her illness. When the show comes on while they are changing channels, the actor says they stop what they are doing to watch the episode. “She’s always asking me questions like, ‘Was that real? Did you really consume that? You ate it right off the ground, didn’t you? That is revolting! ‘You’re hilarious, Dad.'”
