The Angel Award was given by Lowe’s to California employees who assisted a customer who had fallen in the parking lot.

Deborah Hayes told GNN that her elderly mother was shopping in the Modesto store at the time of the tragedy, and she described the incident as a «great story of people helping others.»

The elderly woman, who was 80 at the time, lost her balance and fell to the ground, hitting her head on the pavement.

«There was blood everywhere,» she wrote in a thank-you note to Lowes.

«I was greeted immediately by a group of absolutely lovely people, namely your employees and another wonderful customer.»

The anonymous Good Samaritan was then invited back to Lowe’s for a surprise Angel Award ceremony, during which she was presented with a nice gift basket.

She had exchanged the senior’s house keys for transportation of her shopping bags and care of her dog.

Coworkers gathered under a white balloon arch to honor a coworker whose generosity had also exceeded expectations.

The organization presented Belia Villa with flowers, a crystal plaque, and a $500 check…

Deborah’s mother was also present, having fully recovered from her stitches and receiving a gift basket. As store employees applauded, she thanked the two women who came to her aid, particularly Belia.

«I could feel her heart beating against me,» she said. She truly is an angel.»
