UPI, November 16 — A commuter train in New York City was delayed while personnel hurried to save a wayward kitten off the tracks…

According to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, the engineer of the 9:40 a.m. train on the Metro-North Harlem Line between North White Plains and Grand Central Terminal reported spotting a kitten on the rails at the Fordham station in the Bronx.

The kitten’s mewing from the rails inspired two witnesses to contact Long Island Cat Kitten Solution.

According to John DeBacker, vice president of the rescue group, the MTA police were able to temporarily halt train operations by cutting power to the Metro-North line. This allowed them to go out onto the rails and remove the tiny cat.

According to the MTA, there was only a 10-minute delay in train service.

Last Hope Inc. Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation is currently caring for the kitten…
