Violet Affleck and Jennifer Garner had a mother-daughter date in the White House on Violet’s 17th birthday.

On Thursday, the Yes Day star, 50, and her older daughter attended President Joe Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden’s State Dinner.
During the administration’s first State dinner, the Bidens invited French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte Macron.
Garner and her daughter, whom she shares with ex-husband Ben Affleck, were among the 400 guests.
Garner attended the event in a floor-length black Ralph Lauren gown with sequin accents on the sleeve. Stuart Weitzman shoes and a black clutch completed her appearance.

Violet complemented her thin-strapped Carolina Herrera dress with heart imprinting with a black clutch and scarlet, pointed-toe heels.
The mother and daughter were photographed holding hands tenderly at the event. The two made a rare public appearance.
Garner has publicly discussed her close relationship with her children, notably Violet.
Despite her doctors advise, she said in 2018 that her maternal instincts kicked in when she realized she was pregnant with Violet.
Garner, who is married to Affleck and has two children, Seraphina Rose, 13, and Samuel Garner, 10, stated on The Ellen DeGeneres Show’s annual Mother’s Day broadcast that her at-home pregnancy test was “so poor” that she couldn’t tell. Despite the fact that a doctor told her later that day that she was not pregnant, Garner stated she woke up that morning and “just knew.”

“‘Yes, I am,’ I replied. ‘I swear to God, I am.’ She remembered informing her doctor, and she quickly changed doctors. “Violet is now 12 years old, and I no longer use that doctor, but I still have her, so I win!”
Garner’s first pregnancy — and the two that followed — were not easy, no matter how relieved she was to be correct. “I felt sicker with each one,” she explained. “With each baby, it got worse and worse.”
“I had to listen to Yo-Yo Ma with Sera, my middle child, at night,” she added. “The situation worsened during the day.
I wasn’t exactly fine in the morning. Things got worse as the day went on. For whatever reason, Yo-Yo Ma got me through.

I’d lie in bed, hoping and praying to fall asleep. You’re insane, and you do ridiculous things.”
By the time Garner fell pregnant with Samuel, she had almost given up. “That was similar to Happy Meals,” she added. “It’s revolting. What you do is repulsive.”
Despite her discomfort with the changes her body suffered during pregnancy, she remarked, “I adore being a mother. “I honestly believe it.”
