The most unusual birth was that of his own daughter, born 15 months after he died…

Post-mortem fertilization is not seen as a fantasy event in modern medicine. Ellidy Vlag, the well-known snowboarder’s wife, made this decision. However, if it weren’t for one aspect, the narrative might become routine, as IVF is no longer exceptional. The infant was born 15 months after his father died.

Aside from his professional pursuits, the young Australian snowboarder enjoyed playing the guitar, diving, and spearfishing, among other hobbies. However, it was these dangerous ones that drew his attention and finally killed him.

A diver in the Australian city of Gold Coast recovered Alex’s body on July 8, 2020. Even after her spouse died, Ellidy did not abandon her desire to have a child with him.

Beloved and Alex had been together for 8 years when Alex died. For the past four years of their marriage, the couple had been attempting to conceive, but nothing had worked out.

The couple is well aware that if nothing happens in the next months, they would have to resort to IVF. The tragic death of Alex seemed to put an end to the possibility of a joint child, but Ellidy was adamant.

The girl approached Alex’s parents, full of optimism, and they didn’t hesitate to agree and assist her in any way they could.

Ellidy repeatedly underlined the mixed emotions she felt while pregnant. She was overjoyed to be carrying a kid from her adored husband, for one thing.

On the other side, this was also accompanied with resentment that her spouse was unable to accompany her throughout this special period and the subsequent parenting of their daughter.

Fortunately, the embryo matured normally, and on October 25, this year, the 29-year-old widow gave birth to a child from her cherished partner. Mickey was the name she gave to the child.
