Dolly Parton has had a long and illustrious career in the show business.
The legendary singer’s talents have crossed decades and styles; she has been a fixture at the top of the entertainment business for almost as long as most of us can remember.
Even someone as legendary as she is obliged to face her detractors. According to reports, a number of them have been active recently, criticizing her appearance despite the fact that she is approaching her eighties.

Dolly Parton, 77, is a household figure in country music as well as the celebrity world.
The Tennessee native has become nothing short of a legend, and despite having spent her whole life performing and singing, she has always enjoyed entertaining her millions of admirers.
Dolly Parton announced her retirement from touring in a recent interview with Pollystar. She elaborated:
“I’ll perform a few special shows here and there. Perhaps a long weekend of shows or a few shows at a festival. But I have no plans to embark on a full-fledged tour.”

Despite her unquestionable appeal, there are many who criticize her appearance.
In fact, her physical appearance appears to have been a source of contention virtually since the beginning of her career. Dolly has previously recalled people telling her that if she ever wanted a genuine career, she should shed her characteristic style.
“The main piece of advice that people wanted to give me was to change my look – to go simpler with my hair and the way I dress,” she explained.
“Don’t look so cheap, they’d say, no one was ever going to take me seriously.”
Mean comments haven’t stopped over the years. Some people may even feel vindicated in describing Dolly in completely unfair ways.
“Dolly Parton is one ugly lady,” one Twitter user stated, while another said, “Dolly Parton is so ugly, but she got nice breasts.”
Despite the cruelty and hostility directed at her on the internet, Dolly stays optimistic in her defiance. She’s completely content with her body and appearance and has no plans to change for anyone.
“It costs a lot of money to look this cheap,” she famously commented at one point.

In terms of her husband, the country music legend has already stated that he loves her unconditionally.
“He doesn’t care if I’m fat,” Parton explained.
“He was never switched off.” He thinks I’m the sexiest, most beautiful lady in the world.”
Unsurprisingly, Dolly is still hungry for success and new challenges. According to Rolling Stone, she is ready to accept her induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022, and she wishes to commemorate it by releasing an album that some may consider outside of her wheelhouse.
Fans were ecstatic last year when it was revealed that Dolly Parton was being considered for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a result of her great career.

However, according to reports, the superstar was first hesitant to be considered for the award. The Jolene singer claimed to believe that because her career has primarily consisted of country music, others would be better suited to entering the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
However, the people spoke, and voters agreed that Dolly belonged there. She was inducted into the Hall of Fame in November and immediately set about proving that her selection was warranted.
