Norwich, Kansas, with 450 residents, is expected to decline even further.
The Headrick sextuplets, whose birth in 2002 drew worldwide media attention, graduated from Norwich High School and will begin their college careers in the autumn.

It’s understandable that their parents, Sondra and Eldon Headrick, are experiencing a range of emotions.
Sondra, 51, told TODAY Parents, “I can’t even express in words how pleased we are of them.”But, you know, we’re both a little depressed.”
According to Sondra, the fact that the 18-year-olds are pursuing their education in Kansas offers her peace of mind.
Sean intends to major in cybersecurity at Cowley College, while Ethan intends to major in technical networking at Wichita State University. Grant, the most outgoing of the guys, is taking a year off.

Sondra stated that he will continue to work while contemplating what he wants to do next.
Jaycie, the class valedictorian, plans to study basic education at Pratt Community College. Melissa and Danielle, her sisters, are also pursuing graphic design and animation at Hutchinson Community College.
Melissa and Danielle would not be housemates, but Sondra stated that they wanted to be on the same floor to keep an eye on one other. The girls are quite close. They will talk until the early hours of the morning.
The first several days will be “an awakening,” according to Sondra, for Ethan, Sean, Grant, Jaycie, Melissa, and Danielle.

They had been a couple forever, she said.
