A touching story about a grandfather passing out next to kittens at a local animal shelter.

There are many different types of volunteers in animal shelters, but few are as dedicated as Terry.
The retired man from Green Bay, Wisconsin, donates his whole free time to the Safe Haven animal sanctuary.

The group recently shared adorable images of Terry lounging on the couch with multiple kittens.
The kittens can be seen in the photos using the volunteer as their very own giant cushion and relishing his cuddles.
Even though napping while working is sometimes frowned upon, Safe Haven thanks Terry for allowing them to interact with the kitties.
We’re fortunate to have Terry, they said.

Terry made an introduction when he first arrived at the shelter. He stated that he wished to care for and groom the cats. It later becomes a daily occurrence.

He knows how to groom each cat and what they enjoy. Furthermore, he sleeps virtually every day. We don’t mind because cats require it. Terry is an outstanding volunteer.
Safe Haven opened its doors in December 2016 as a nonprofit haven for cats with special needs and disabilities that traditional shelters couldn’t accept.

There are no cages within Safe Haven, which looks like a living room.
According to the designer, Elizabeth Feldhausen, socialization is extremely beneficial for frightened cats.

So we set up everything to make the cats at ease and help them adjust to life in the house.
Terry says, “I’ve always liked cats.” I, on the other hand, did not. When I retired, I wanted to be in a place where I could do something enjoyable and gratifying. I’ve volunteered at other shelters as well, but this one stands out since there are no cages, allowing the cats to get human care in a comfortable setting.

Terry still visits the shelter on a daily basis to care for the cats, sometimes falling asleep inadvertently in the process. And the cats had no objections to any of this friendly rivalry!
