This grandmother’s life was altered by her decision to travel the world rather than care for her grandchildren…

Josefa, a 60-year-old Brazilian woman, decided to tour the world to fulfill her grandmother’s goal of seeing everything.

Her tale went viral a few months ago after she opted to forego caring for her grandchildren in order to pursue her main ambition of visiting as many countries as possible.

The woman frequently posts images of her travels on social media, and she has visited cities in over 40 countries across Europe, Asia, and Africa.

Her images inspire a number of other young women to pursue their dreams. When her grandmother traveled through Latin America, she preferred to visit her native Brazil over Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Ecuador, Colombia, and Peru.

“Now here I go, honoring the girl who always wanted to be a traveler,” she wrote in her Bogotá post. Josefa has participated in a variety of activities while abroad, including aggressive swinging and visiting the Middle of the World monument in Quito, Ecuador.

Granny has sampled a wide range of delicacies and learned about the cultures and practices of numerous societies other than her own.

“If there is something that gives me pleasure, it is learning about other cultures; diverse ways of living and being in the world,” the Brazilian woman said upon arriving at Lake Titicaca, which is located on the border between Peru and Bolivia.

She continues to share photographs, travel experiences, and inspirational quotes with her over 25,000 Instagram followers as a constant reminder that she made the best decision for herself.
