Lisa Fletcher, 58, and her husband Neil, 55, have abandoned all contemporary technology in their Somerset, England, home and recreated a 1930s lifestyle.

Lisa Fletcher claimed that she had always pictured herself living in the 1930s. To outfit the home in a vintage style, she and her husband used the internet or thrift stores to buy real appliances, ornamental accents, and antique furniture.
The Fletchers only watch black-and-white movies on vintage TVs, cook on a 1929 Jackson gray enamel stove, store their groceries in a 1935 Westinghouse refrigerator, and use a landline phone rather than a cell phone.

In practice, spouses prefer cash to bank cards and online payments.
While Neal is at work, Lisa stays at home to cook and clean, and she prefers to wash and dry her clothes by hand rather than using a washer and dryer.

The family hosts a customary Sunday dinner every week, complete with homemade fare and no cooked food. The couple is childless and has no intentions of reentering contemporary society.
