Instead of traveling alone or refusing to attend at all, the 18-year-old decided to do what any sensible and sound-minded person would do: he opted to bring his cat, Ruby.

To be fair, he didn’t actually take the cat to the dance, but he did pose for some prom photos with her before leaving.
