Nothing beats a baby’s smile, especially when it comes unexpectedly. One young girl with Down Syndrome smiled for the first time, and her mother videotaped it.

When an 8-month-old newborn was doing tummy time on a soft blanket with her adoptive mother, mom said, “How’s your day going?”
In response, her daughter’s face lit up with an ear-to-ear grin, instantaneously capturing the hearts of internet viewers all around the world. Even mum couldn’t help but smile at the little girl’s delight.

The mom’s chuckle is lovely as her kid delights her with round after round of gorgeous grins that are sweet enough to improve anyone’s day.
Her new skill could be a reaction to her new mother’s delight, as the infant had recently been adopted through the National Down Syndrome Adoption Network.

While the time of smiling on cue only lasted a few weeks, mom relished it and is pleased she has a recording of her child’s first grin to cherish for the rest of her life.
Sometimes all we need to recall the important things in life is the simplicity of a child’s grin. This mom has a lovely gift that she will treasure for the rest of her life.
