On his last flight, a student choir surprised the captain with a heartwarming impromptu serenade.

Ronald Smith, a United Airlines pilot for 32 years, is flying his final flight from Chicago to Brussels before retiring.
When the LGE (Lycée des Garçons d’Esch-sur-Alzette) student choir learned of his retirement, they did everything they could to commemorate him.
The choir remained behind after the other passengers had fled the jet, waiting for Ronald to emerge from the pit, at which point they formed a semi-circle and performed Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida.”

The kids transformed the song with an a cappella serenade, and the captain must have savored the occasion as the crew gathered around him.
This must have been a truly heartwarming moment for Captain Ronald and we wish him all the best in his next endeavor.
