Chris, the protagonist of this story, is a young man. The man and his friends went to Alaska. The firm intended to risk on the gold quest. After several weeks of hard work, little was done, but the health of many expedition members deteriorated.

Chris chose to look further because he was in a good mood. He took a route to the mine that he had never taken before.
After a few miles, Chris spotted a dog in the forest. After thoroughly scrutinizing the animal, the man realized his mistake and discovered it was a wolf rather than a dog. The animal became motionless after becoming entangled in a trap.

The wolf was powerless but did not allow the man to come near, roaring and chattering his teeth. Chris was unable to simply go after realizing that the wolf had recently given birth and that its young were likely close and terrified.
The man made the decision to find his babies and bring them closer to their mom because he was unable to remove the trap and the wolf would not allow him to get close. Rhys discovered the wolf’s footprints and proceeded to follow them until he arrived at the hole where the cubs were hiding.
The man loaded the kids into a knapsack and walked away. Chris heard the cry of a wolf as he got closer. The wolf attempted to call her young ones to her after smelling them.

When the babies heard their mother, they began sobbing and attempted to escape the bag. The cubs immediately rushed to their mother once the man placed them on the ground, and she began feeding them.
The animal calmly dropped its meal into the trash and ran away, not allowing Chris to approach it.
Chris went every morning to feed the wolf, carrying meat with him. A few days later, the wolf cubs excitedly raced in the direction of the man, but their mother remained obstinate and did not trust the man.

Only one week later, the animal moved away from the man and allowed him to release his paws from the trap. The mom quickly gathered the kids and fled into the wilderness as soon as she was free.
Chris and his companions hurriedly made their way back home after failing to find the gold.
Chris was once more in Alaska after five years. A worker who was employed by a ship only descended to carry paperwork to a nearby settlement. When Chris’ snowmobile broke down, he was just about there when he had to keep going on foot.

Chris was almost in the village when the wolves emerged from the trees and approached him. The man expected the worst because he knew he had little hope of survival. The man recognized the wolf he had spared a few years ago when the oldest member of the pack gave him a careful look.
The wolf did not fight her savior because she recognized him and chose to enter the woods instead. The younger animals trailed the eldest.

The wolf remembered and expressed gratitude to the person who had supported her during trying times.
