Barbara Morris, a 90-year-old great-grandmother from Manchester, got her birthday wish granted when she rode on the back of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, reminiscing about her earlier days as a motorcycle lover. Morris, who got her first motorbike license as a teenager in the 1950s, had told her family for years that when she turned 90, she wanted to get back in the saddle.

Her sons and a local motorbike group surprised her with a ride around town and a stop at a pub. Morris, who was dressed in a frock, didn’t mind straddling the bike and said the trip made her feel young again.

It was even more special for her because she had never ridden a Harley-Davidson motorcycle before. Morris, according to his granddaughter Kirsty Harvey, had a “daredevil spirit” and was not frightened of anything. Morris’s hair and makeup were done by the nursing home personnel who assisted with the surprise.

Morris described the experience as “incredible” as she felt the wind blowing in her face once again. Her family expressed their delight in fulfilling her dream.
