Every day, this man drove the entire 21 miles to and from work. But, in the end, his hard work paid off…

James Robertson, a Detroit resident, had car difficulty in 1988, exactly ten years ago.

The man earns $10.55 per hour, which is insufficient to acquire a new vehicle.

As a result, he determined that the best method to get to work would be on foot.

In the same breath, he seemed unconcerned with the fact that this trail is somewhat long and that getting the bus there and back will take 34 kilometers.

Evan Leedy, a 19-year-old student, read about a man and was surprised by what the man was forced to do.

He was filled with the desire to help in some way, so he formed a fund to raise funds for Robertson to purchase a car.

The young man professes to be impressed by an older man’s calm and assured manner, who does not complain about his lot in life and walks a large distance every day without thinking about it.

This story moved many, and as a result, more than $149,000 was donated to the charity. Simultaneously, one of the automakers committed to giving a vehicle to James Robertson.

Evan Lidy stated that the funds raised will be used to purchase a home for a man in the area where he works.

When Robertson found out about this, he was completely taken aback, but he did not decline the present because he was so fatigued from his long treks and lack of sleep.
