Katie Newhouser met Tina Rummel, the mother of a pit bull named Leo, while working her UPS route. They formed great friendships throughout the years until tragedy struck one day. Following Tina’s death, Leo was left alone.

Tina’s son was away overseas on active Marine duty, so there weren’t many options. But Leo was well aware of his needs.

Leo wished Katie would accept him! He would enter her truck and remain there.

So Katie made the decision to care for him while the son was away on service. Leo gets along with all the other dogs in Katie’s home because he is such a gregarious and laid-back individual.

After his owner passed away, Katie made the decision to adopt him and provide him with the home he truly desired.
