Simon’s coveted Golden Buzzer is awarded to a father and son’s outstanding “Riverdance” performance.

Everyone in the room was laughing, and it was for a good reason.
Stavros Flatley was chosen to compete in Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions, which features some of the best performances from previous seasons. Only this time, Simon Cowell turned down the father-son duo’s humorous audition.

Stavros Flatley is well-known for their comic Greek performance, which features the two dancing on stage with their tummies protruding. Although it has been a decade since they first appeared on BGT, their most recent performance is a reminder of why the world fell in love with them in the first place.

Demi Demetriou and his 12-year-old son Lagi appeared before the judges in 2009 wearing nothing except their usual clothes. They then went backstage, only to be surprised when they resurfaced.
Demi stormed in, wearing a blonde wig, a headband, and no top. He had everyone in the room laughing as he pretended to be Michael Flatley, the famed river dancer. It got even funnier when Lagi appeared on stage with his father, both dressed in the same outfit.

Although Stavros Flatley did not win the crown that year, the show did help launch the attractive couple into the spotlight.
Stavros Flatley has performed all over the world, participated on TV shows, developed products, published the book How to Be a Little Bit Greek, and even created a brand of Greek cuisine called «Stavros Flatley’s Greek Kitchen,» according to the Classique website.

Everyone received a present when they were invited to compete in Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions.
The new audition for Stavros Flatley began with a flute musician in the middle of the room, followed by Celtic dancers lighting up the stage. But everything was just getting started…

Demi comes through the door, nude belly and all, dressed in his signature Greek costume! He gets the crowd going crazy with his river-dancing skills right before he stops to strike a posture. It was about to get even better.

Lagi comes leaping out of nowhere! Only now, years later, is he (of course) no longer a child and has grown up.
It’s a show that pulls out all the stops. With blazing flames, drummers, dancing ladies, and none other than the hilarious Stavros Flatley couple stealing the show.

They even closed their audition just as we had planned by hurling their wigs directly at the judges’ bench.

After a lengthy explanation, Demi takes up the microphone and delivers an emotional address.
«I can’t tell you how much we appreciate you going crazy for us. But I must add that this program is fantastic. We’ve traveled the world, done things, and visited places we never imagined we’d visit—all because of you.»

Demi also shared his pride in his kid, Lagi, before giving him a hearty embrace.

Stavros Flatley was grateful for the chance afforded by BGT, and Simon also wished to thank the couple.
He tells them,

«Look, there is something I’ve been meaning to tell you for years. I wanted to express my heartfelt gratitude to you both for everything you’ve done. I only have one way to express my gratitude to you.»

Simon climbs out of his chair and hits the Golden Buzzer! It is the series’ highest honor, propelling the contestant directly to the final rounds. Everyone’s reactions, as expected, are priceless!
