During the journey, the young baby’s lips became blue and she stopped breathing… Here’s what the team did…

When a major occurrence occurred directly in front of Ian Cassette, meteorologists were not expected to provide any breaking news, contrary to their usual procedure.

Ian works for Fox 35 in Orlando, Florida. He was about 30 minutes into his flight from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Orlando, Florida, when he saw a disturbance a few rows ahead of him. A young mother’s infant had stopped breathing, necessitating assistance.

In order to save 3-month-old Anjelé, the flight crew issued an announcement asking for medical staff to report to the front of the aircraft. For several excruciating seconds, Ian and the other passengers waited, hoping that someone qualified could assist.

For more than 20 years, Tamara Panzino has worked as a nurse. She was really hoping there was another doctor or nurse on board because she claims she’s “not one to jump into drama.” However, she realized she had to act morally when nobody else did.

Tamara began by rubbing the infant’s legs and chest while providing oxygen to her. After a few torturous seconds, Anjelé began breathing on her own again.

“When you have to step up and do what’s right,” Tamara later told Ian, “you do it.” It was just a happy story, and after hearing it, I felt great.

Before they disembarked from the aircraft to Orlando, the baby’s father lifted her up so that everyone could see how joyful and satisfied she was. During the surge of cheers, the entire plane recognized Tamara’s participation to the successful conclusion.

After they landed, Ian visited with Anjelé’s parents, who were still reeling from what had transpired.

Ian wrote on Twitter that Anjelé’s parents “were horrified and had never experienced anything like this before.” They praised the positive energy aboard the plane as well as Tamara’s bravery in saving the woman.

He also commended the flight attendants for remaining calm in such a stressful situation.

We find it heartwarming to witness strangers band together in times of need. We are extremely appreciative that Tamara joined the team and offered to assist!
