A 97-year-old American soldier from WWII was visiting France for the D-Day anniversary when he ran across the 92-year-old French woman he had fallen in love with while in France. They were reunited after 75 years and recognized each other, proving the reality of true love.

The American soldier was in love with an 18-year-old French girl who lived in the town where the soldiers were stationed during the war. KT Robbins, an American army soldier, was only 24 years old at the time. He fell in love with Jeannine Ganaye, an 18-year-old French girl, the moment he saw her. This happened in the town of Briey in 1944.
When Robbins requested that his clothes be laundered, the two had an opportunity to converse. According to Jeannine’s mother, the boy’s clothes will be washed. They fell in love the moment they saw one other. Robbins, on the other hand, was compelled to go for the Eastern Front two months later in order to confront the Axis powers. He told her he might bring her along when he returned. Jeannine was deeply wounded by the idea that he would eventually leave for the United States without her.

She learned English because she believed he would come to get her. Robbins from the 26th Infantry, First Division, on the other hand, afterward served at the bakery battalion and came back to the US by himself.
He met his future wife, Lillian, there, and the two were married for 70 years till her passing in 2015. For the next 50 years, the two collaborated in a Mississippi hardware business. Regarding Jeannine, she also wed another person in 1949. She later gave birth to five kids.

Robbins never forgot the French woman with whom he fell in love. He would treasure her photograph for the next seven decades. He showed the image to French media who questioned him. He hoped to find her and her family if she was still alive on the 75th anniversary of D-Day. He was skeptical that she would be alive.
Journalists discovered Jeannine at a retirement community just 27 miles from her hometown, where the two first met. The couple’s reunion was heartbreaking as they peered into each other’s eyes after 75 years apart.

Robbins assured her that she had been in his heart forever and that he had always loved her. He explained that he had gotten married and was unable to return when she questioned him why he had never returned. Robbins had to depart after spending a short while with them to attend another event in Normandy. However, they made a commitment to meet again. After 75 years apart, the rendezvous concluded with a first kiss.
