A “new child” appears to have arrived in town.
Police officers are typically represented as upholding the rule of law. To keep the neighborhood safe, they pursue criminals, record offenses, and perform patrols.

Only these tasks, however, should be regarded as beneficial to society. Furthermore, the power of engagement as a member of the army should never be underestimated.

The South Hill neighborhood police received a call about damaged utilities.
Officer C.B. Fleming arrived at the scene of a reported gas leak. The residents alerted local law police because they believed it was dangerous and could start a fire.

Fortunately, the leak was determined to be non-threatening. However, having cops around might be terrifying for children, especially for the group that Officer Fleming spotted as he approached the apartment complex.

Officer Fleming had an idea for reassuring the children of their safety and calming them down.
In a video posted online by a local, he can be seen playing with the youngsters.

He notably spent some time with two groups of children coloring and a group of females playing with dolls on the street.

He didn’t seem to mind being seen holding a box of crayons or playing with the dolls in the video. And the people in the area appreciate what Officer Fleming did.

They stated it was more than just playing with the youngsters.
One of the locals, Iesha Roper, stated that children in their neighborhood are frightened of cops. As a result, having a police officer approach them and engage in pleasant conversation with them makes them feel safe and seen.

Roper went on to claim that he recorded the video not because she expected it to go viral, but rather to show people that her niece was not crying and felt safe.

Officer Fleming stated that he has always tried to encourage community involvement, particularly among youth. He went on to argue that policing entails more than issuing tickets and making arrests.

According to Officer Fleming, police play an important part in building a feeling of community.
He said that being a police officer included being a change agent, and that in order to do so, they needed to acquire the trust of the community. He went on to say that it is vital for them to help and promote people of all races, creeds, and beliefs.

There were a lot of calls here when I first came, Officer Fleming said WTVR. I thought that if I could persuade them that I was a reliable source and that they could come to me with their difficulties, I would be able to assist them.

Roper disagrees with individuals who believe that a cop’s job should not include playing with dolls.
“My child only needs to call C.B. if she requires assistance in order for him to persuade her that she is safe—she doesn’t even need to dial 911.” “I’m delighted he made this part of his job,” she said.

Officer Fleming’s dedication to the community earned him the nickname “The South Hill Batman” among the locals.

And the South Hill Batman will defend his neighborhood, whether it means apprehending criminals or performing cartwheels in the streets.
